Big  News

This is NOT public knowledge yet!
Aside from folks in the Friendly Filmmaker Community, no one knows.

The news is....

*drum roll*...

We are working on our first Feature Film!

Kara, Claudia, and Jessica are typical roommates. They love tv marathons, matching pjs, and being monsters. When one of them is suddenly in danger, the group has to get off the couch and embark on a historical quest through the ages to stop a stupid mean villain from ending the world.
You know. Girl stuff.

E. P.  &  VFX

We are actively looking for two parties right now.

First, we need an Executive Producer to help with Development and Pre-Production.

This tenacious person hopefully thinks of challenges as problems to solve, not barriers that can't be overcome, and can...

  • help finalize the budget
  • make phone calls and emails to potential partners and clients
  • has experience with contracts
  • has experience with fundraising
  • has experience with pitch meetings
  • has at least a vague sense of product placement, since that's a major part of our fundraising plan
  • coordinate logistics between different departments and teams

Deadline to Apply: ASAP, with a hard stop January 15, 2025.
Starting Date: Ideally January 1st but no later than February 1st, 2025.
Compensation: Full credits, Monthly Rate plus Percentage.
If interested, please reply to this email with resume and any questions you have.

This film will have a tight blend of PRACTICAL in-camera effects and computer effects, so we want to coordinate with a postproduction expert THIS EARLY in order to build strategies for the shoot to pull of some of the shots we have planned. #iykyk

So we also need to find a VFX house (or person). This person or team hopefully can...

  • meets deadlines reliably
  • good at communication
  • has experience with collaborating with IRL FX
  • can guide us in PREPRODUCTION on how best to shoot FX shots so they come out great in post
  • experience with collaborative storyboarding
  • experience with previz

Deadline to Apply: ASAP, with a hard stop March 15, 2025.
Starting Date: Ideally March 1st but no later than April 1st, 2025.
Compensation: Full credits, plus TBD rates.
If interested, please reply to this email with demo reel, website, and any questions you have.

For either of these, feel free to share with anyone you recommend!

Thank you for reading!

SYNOPSIS

Resonance: Earth 101 is a sci-fi thriller proof-of-concept trailer.

Shortly after crashing on Earth in 1983, Kara discovers a mysterious VHS tape in an abandoned warehouse. This triggers a recorded message from Josh, a Brooklyn teen who seems to know her story, even before they’ve met. Through his nervous humor, warnings about Earth, and a mixtape he calls “Earth 101", Josh offers Kara both survival tools and an unexpected connection.

ROLES

JOSH
• Male, 18–25, Black or Mixed Ethnicity
• A hidden tech prodigy from 1983 Brooklyn — sharp, curious, and socially awkward, hiding brilliance behind sarcasm. Nervous yet magnetic. He risks everything to help Kara find her way on Earth.

KARA
• Female, 18–25, Black or Mixed Ethnicity
• A resilient and observant young woman carrying a maturity beyond her years. Athletic and graceful, Kara looks both innocent and ancient, as though she’s already written into myth. Her arrival on Earth sets off an unexpected chain of events.
