Cassie
Lead
Early-Mid 20s (22-26)

Cassie is closed-off, dry, and quick to defense. Must be played with subtlety in some scenes and intensity in others. Dynamic facial expressions are important.

Rate: $256 / day
Total Pay: $1,024 (est. 4 days of work)

Vivienne
Lead
Late 40s (46-50)

Vivienne is always stretched too thin. She’s holding herself together and paying the mortgage while her daughter spirals into grief and denial. Must be played with both warmth and a sense of resignation.

Rate: $256 / day
Total Pay: $512 (est. 2 days of work)

David
Supporting
Late 30s (37-40)

David is here to help. Whether he’s a therapist or a youth pastor isn’t quite clear, but whatever he is, he’s kind and empathetic. He should be non-threatening and soft-spoken.

John

Rate: $100 - $200 / day
Total Pay: $100 - $200 (est. 1 day of work)

Milton
Supporting
Late 60s (67-70)

Milton is everyone’s conspiracy theorist uncle. He’s gruff, he’s grumpy, and he won’t listen to anyone who doesn’t listen to AM radio. He’s decidedly working class, but not a redneck. He should be tough but not confrontational.

Rate: $100 - $200 / day
Total Pay: $100 - $200 (est. 1 day of work)

Ellen
Supporting
Mid-40s (44-47)

Ellen is every bleeding-heart liberal millennial with a “Coexist” bumper sticker. She’s well-meaning, but anxious, and her unease affects everyone around her. She should have a strong presence but she shouldn’t be a caricature.

Rate: $100 - $200 / day
Total Pay: $100 - $200 (est. 1 day of work)

VIDEOGRAPHER + EDITOR

PAID: Boston/Cambridge social-first shooter + editor for RIFFHAUS

RIFFHAUS is hiring a local filmmaker/content creator for a pilot Instagram Reel series about turning songs into clothing.

We want candid, slightly strange, editorial work with personality—not a glossy commercial.

Pilot scope:

• 90-minute shoot in Cambridge, Massachusetts

• One 20–30-second vertical Reel for Instagram

• Founder-led storytelling, product details, movement and behind-the-scenes process

• Collaborate on a simple shot plan, then shoot and edit

• Editing: selects, pacing, captions, basic color correction and audio cleanup

• One round of reasonable revisions

• First cut within five business days; final delivery within two business days of feedback

• Final delivery: 9:16 Instagram-ready export, plus a clean version without captions if practical

• Bring your own camera or phone setup, stabilization and basic audio equipment; note any equipment or location needs

• Budget: $600 total, including pre-production, filming, editing and one revision

Usage:

RIFFHAUS may use the final Reel and approved cutdowns/stills on Instagram, TikTok, its website, email and other brand-owned channels, including paid social advertising. You retain ownership of underlying portfolio materials and may share the finished work after publication.

Please flag any licensing restrictions involving music, footage, talent or third-party assets.

Potential for recurring batch shoots if the format works. Future scope and compensation will be agreed separately.

To apply, send to [email protected]:

• Three relevant short-form examples, preferably vertical and personality-led

• Your role on each piece: shooting, directing, editing and/or audio

• Availability over the next two to four weeks

• Expected first-cut turnaround

• Location and ability to work reliably in Cambridge

• Brief camera, phone, audio and lighting setup

• Rate for comparable recurring work, if different from the $600 pilot budget

• Any licensing, usage or scheduling constraints

• Instagram, portfolio or Vimeo link

Include your name, email address and the subject line: “RIFFHAUS Social Shooter.”

Strong preference for work that feels human, funny, musical or fashion-aware rather than corporate.
