Happy Halloween!

Oct 31, 2025

As we enjoy this spooky season, I find myself ruminating on all the cool art being made by the filmmaking community right now. 🎃🎬

NOCTIS  MONSTORUM

This past weekend, Magenta Manor just wrapped production on their latest horror comedy short, "Noctis Monstorum", written by Ashes Homon-Rahall and co-directed by her and Patrick Rahall.

The actors were invited to truly PLAY. We got to pick our own creature, and design the costumes ourselves. It was a lot of fun to wield that level of power! 😁

I WISH I COULD SHARE PHOTOS!

But we don't want to spoil anything, so I can't. All I will say is a special thank you to Rebecca Hickman who helped me remotely learn and assemble some truly creepy makeup for the shoot, and to Nicky Lowney for connecting her to the Friendly Filmmaker Community where we met!

I can't wait to share what we made.

Follow Magenta Manor on all the socials, and come to the premiere of the film at Dead Of Winter in Worcester this February!

HARVEST   FESTIVAL

Rob Levinson hosted the Harvest Festival this same weekend, showcasing 8 films from New England local filmmakers! The films that screened were...

Stage Freight by Luke St. Germaine
Nine Fears by Adler Tuck
The Light by Connor Morley
Into Reality by Matthew Gorman
Lights Over Lakeville by Jimmy Martin
The Family Tailor by Brian Kuenn
Mother Grimm by Jason Lake
Ramirez by Rob Levinson

As you can see, an incredible lineup! And it's always a great day when you get to share time with friends and filmmakers excited about making art.

I wasn't there, but all photos and chats with friends report an amazing night was had. 😊

Jason and team enjoyed sharing "Mother Grimm" with an MA audience and doing the Q&A, and celebrating with filmmakers and friends after. We can't wait to share the film again!

"Into Reality" by Matt Gorman also had its New England Premiere! I loved working on this one, and joining the lore of a series of stories Matt's been telling for three films now. I am honored and I can't wait for you all to see it!

TASTE   AWAY   WITH   KATIE   K

Local Filmmaker and Actor (as well as co-founder of the Lois Weber Film Festival) Katie Killourhy is a huge foodie, and started a great food blog on YouTube where she visits local gems and shows you where the magic is hidden! So if you love food, this is for YOU.

www.youtube.com/@TasteAwaywithKatieK

Sometimes, Katie has guest ride-alongs with her! The last episode was with local celebrity Sheri Lee. They went to try out Scarlet Fire BBQ in Amesbury, and it was absolutely fun and charming, and the food looked delicious.

This past weekend, Buffalo-based actor Amelia Favata and I were lucky enough to come along and play! We went to Red Apple Farms, which is a local institution -- it's over a hundred years old! It has amazing attractions and fall festival fun (even though the fun has events year round!). We had so much to explore!

We got to horse around, try amazing foods, and enjoy some fall-weather silliness. The promo dropped today and the episode will be up next week. I hope you enjoy!

IS 2025 DONE?

No!

The season isn't over! There are films being filmed as we speak, and more festivals to enjoy!

We have the Shirley Film Festival this weekend, Access Film Festival next weekend, and the Winterdance Film Festival on Dec 6, among other events!

So before 2025 closes out, make sure you have your tickets and popcorn for some indie movie watching fun!!
