I Love the Shawna Foundation!

August and September are the annual fundraising drives for the Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, which is one of my absolute favorite independent filmmaking organizations and festivals in all of existence.

When I was first meeting local film people in New England, getting the lay of the land here, every single person I spoke to mentioned this group by name, and suggested I go to the Shawna Shea Film Festival and the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival, both of which are run by this foundation.

I fell in love. I had found my film family. And it's been growing ever since.

This year, they put out a call for fans like me to submit a video or voice message, no more than a minute long, for a project they're working on. I have no idea what that is, but I wanted to contribute! So here's my entry, such as it is.
