2024 & 2025

Happy New Year!

Hello Dear Friendly Filmmakers far and wide!

As we flip our calendars from 2024 to 2025, I wanted to cover two things:

1) A look back.

2) A look ahead.

1) A Great Year Comes to a Close

I wanted to share something that we shared in our last newsletter.
I usually don't do this, but I should make it a regular habit.

There's nothing wrong with taking stock of how things went.

And in looking back at what Friendly Filmmaker accomplished in 2024, I'm gobsmacked at how much this full-time mom was able to pull off.

I broke it down into 3 major categories...

COMMUNITY:

• THE BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT IS THIS: We sent out 52 Newsletters — which shared 60+ community events, 150+ paid film gigs, and 6 community fundraisers 🤯

• Attended 7 film festivals and premieres

• Hosted TWO in-person Friendly Filmmaker networking events

• Appeared on two interviews (The Random Kristian Show, and Hollywooot’s This Week In Worcester)

FILMS:

• Completed 5 new short films

• Helped on 13 additional projects with other Directors

• Wrote 9 scripts

• Localized a film in Italian for the first time

• Earned 49 Festival Laurels (31 acceptances, 5 nominations, 2 Quarter-Finalists, 2 Honorable Mentions, and 9 Awards)

YOUTUBE:

• Published 100 YouTube Videos (23 Long-form Videos, 22 Livestreams, 55 Shorts)

• 106,014 Views

• 231 New Subscribers

Holy moly! 

I… I am just shocked. 10-15 hours per week doing what I love resulted in all this in just one year.

(I just realized, I didn't count up the number of Ko‑fi articles and blog posts! 👀)

And the only way everything came together was because of this amazing film community we have here in New England. All of you rule. 

I love doing indie film with all of you.

So now that I have that fire in my belly, let's...

2) Look Ahead at What's Next

2025 has a lot in store. 

First and biggest, I am FINALLY developing a course like I've been thinking about for literally years. I'm very excited.

I am writing 3 feature scripts. 

I will be filming at least one of them in 2025.

I got cast in a friend's feature filming in March.

I am hosting two more Friendly Filmmaker events - one in August and one around the Holidays.

I have TWO surprises I'm cooking on.

... and that's just the beginning.

There are major additions coming to the Friendly Filmmaker world, and I cannot wait to share all the special details with you.
